Dr. Khalil received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering from Cairo University in 1991 and 1996, respectively, and his Ph.D. from Nagoya University, Japan, in 2002. He has taught at the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST), Cairo University, Nagoya University in Japan, the University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia, Nihon University in Japan, and Rabat International University in Morocco. He is currently a Professor and the Chairperson of the Aerospace Engineering Department at E-JUST. Dr. Khalil also has industrial experience, having worked at Volvo Car Corporation in Sweden as a wind tunnel testing engineer (1996-1997), Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Japan as a senior product development engineer (2001-2003), Transtechno-Egypt, an engineering consultation office, as CTO (2003-2011), and the Egyptian Space Agency as Deputy CEO (2019-2022). He has served on the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Space Agency as Secretary and Member (2019-2022) and Member (2022-present). He also gained industrial experience through collaboration projects with Nippon Steel Ltd., Eqous Ltd., Densotechno Ltd., Mitsubishi Car Corporation, and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). Dr. Khalil was a member of the committee that developed the Aeronautical Engineering and Aviation Management (AEMN) program at the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, and the Aerospace Engineering program at Rabat International University. He is the founder of the Aerospace Engineering Program at E-JUST and serves as a reviewer for Aerospace Engineering programs at the New Engineering Programs Administration (MENPP), Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Dr. Khalil has published over 80 articles in international journals and conferences. He is also an active reviewer for several aerospace engineering journals and conferences. Dr. Khalil was a member of the development team for a nano-satellite called NEXUS, developed by Nihon University, which was successfully launched into space in January 2019 and is still in operation. His research interests include micro/nano-satellite technology, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), experimental fluid dynamics (EFD), aeroacoustics, flow-induced sound and vibration, and flight dynamics. He is a senior member of JSASS, JSME, AIAA, and UNISEC-Global.
