Microbiology and Immunology, Faculty of Pharmacy

Mohamed Habib is a lecturer who works at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Faculty of Pharmacy Cairo University. Mohamed received his masters degree from his home faculty on locating oxidoreductases from the Egyptian niche (2011-2014) under the supervision of Dr. Salwa Megahed, Dr. Ahmed Attia and Dr. Tamer Essam. He then went on to do his PhD (2016-2020) from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands in the lab of Prof. Marco Fraaije in the field of molecular enzymology. Currently, he teaches various microbiology courses to both under- and postgraduate students. He co-supervises several students working towards their masters and doctorate degrees. Mohamed specializes in biocatalysis, lignin chemistry, biochemistry and microbiology. He is open to other research from different fields as he would like to diversify his research portfolio.
