Pharmacology and Toxicology

Dr. Mennatallah A. Ali is an Associate Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the Faculty of Pharmacy, E-JUST, Alexandria, Egypt. Her research bridges pharmacological science with clinical relevance, emphasizing the molecular basis of metabolic disorders, particularly diabetes and obesity. She explores how pharmacological agents can be optimized or repurposed to enhance therapeutic outcomes.

Her scientific contributions extend across several interconnected fields, including neuropharmacology, cardiovascular pharmacology, rheumatoid arthritis, and cancer biology. This multidisciplinary perspective shapes her approach to drug discovery and translational research. In addition to her research, Dr. Ali is actively involved in academic mentorship and curriculum development, fostering a research-driven environment for emerging scientists. She also contributes to departmental administrative responsibilities, supporting the coordination of academic programs and internal quality assurance processes.

Dr. Mennatallah A. Ali’s research centers on experimental and molecular pharmacology, with a focus on inflammation, oxidative stress, and organ protection mechanisms. Her work comprises ischemia-reperfusion injury, neuroinflammation, and metabolic disorders, exploring therapeutic strategies that target key signaling cascades such as NLRP3 inflammasome, MAPK/NOX/MMP, and TGF-β/Smad pathways. She also investigates novel anti-inflammatory, antifibrotic, and neuroprotective agents, including drug combinations and nanocarrier-based formulations, aiming to translate molecular insights into effective treatments for cardiovascular, neurodegenerative, and inflammatory diseases.
