Mathematics

Ayman A. Arafa was born in Sohag, Egypt, in 1988. He received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Mathematics from Sohag University, Egypt, in 2009, 2013, and 2018, respectively. From 2010 to 2018, he worked as a Research Assistant at Sohag University. From 2018 to 2019 and 2021 to 2022, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Mathematics Department at Sohag University, Egypt.

In 2014 and 2019, he was awarded the Prof. Bahaa-Eddin Helmy Ismail Prize from the Egyptian Mathematical Society for the best Master’s and Ph.D. theses in Mathematics, respectively. From June 2019 to June 2021, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the School of Mathematics and Statistics, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi'an, China.

Currently, he is an Associate Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences Institute (BAS), at the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST).

 

His research interests lie primarily in Mathematical Modeling, Dynamical Systems (ordinary, delay, fractional), Filippov systems, Chaos, Synchronization, Secure communications.


Awards

1-  Prof. Bahaa-Eddin Helmy Ismail’s Prize from the Egyptian Mathematical Society as the best PhD thesis in Mathematics, 2019.

2- Prof. Bahaa-Eddin Helmy Ismail’s Prize from the Egyptian Mathematical Society as the best Master thesis in Mathematics, 2014.
