Computer Science and Engineering

Amin Ahmed Shoukry was born in Alexandria, Egypt. He obtained his BSc (1973) and MSc (1978) from the Computer Science and Automatic Control Dept, Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University. In 1979 he obtained a diploma in Computer Science from Pierre and Marie Curie University, Paris, France. Then, he joined the AI group at the Informatics Research Center, Nancy, France, where he obtained his Doctor of Engineering degree in 1983. He is currently Professor at the Computer Science and Engineering Dept at EJUST. His areas of interests include Computational Intelligence, Machine learning and Pattern Recognition.Prof. Shoukry served as the Dean of the EJUST Electronics, Communication and Computing School (2015-2017), the Chairman of the EJUST CSE Dept ( 2010 -2012), Head of the Computer and Systems Eng Dept, Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria Univ (2007- 2010). He is a Professor since 1999 at Alexandria University. He worked with several Academic Institutions in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon. He is the Recipient of the 1997 Egyptian National Research Academy award in the area of Computer and operations Research. He published 70 papers in well known journals, International as well as National Conferences. He reviewed technical papers for IEEE PAMI, IEEE SMC, Computing Reviews as well as national university journals and national conferences. He supervised many thesis at Alexandria University, EJUST (Egypt Japan University of Science and Technology) and AAST (Arabic Academy for Science and Technology).
