Dr. Gomaa, an Assistant Professor of Applied Linguistics, joined E-JUST in September 2017. She received her M.A. and PhD degrees from the Faculty of Arts, Department of English Language and Literature, Alexandria University. Specialized in applied linguistics and cognitive studies, Dr. Gomaa attempted to bridge the gap between contemporary language use and the comprehension of literary works based on writer's intent. She later broadened her research to include other disciplines, namely the media and the effect of language on social cognition and behavior. She has been teaching ESP in various academic institutions including: the Faculty of Commerce, Alexandria University, Spring 1994-Spring 2017, the Faculty of Economic Studies and Political Sciences, Spring 2016-2017, Beirut Arab University, 2004-2010 and Alexandria University, English for Special Purposes Center (ESP), 1994-1995.She has also held various sessions and workshops on communication and soft skills and has implemented her methodology to augment traditional language teaching. Her interest in the effect of language on cognitive behavior has lead to her recent research on decision making and the effect of multilingualism on culture acceptance in various disciplines including Accounting and Management.
