Mechatronics and Robotics

Ahmed M. R. Fath El Bab was born in Cairo, Egypt, in 1974. He received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Assiut University, Assiut, Egypt, in 2002 and 2008, respectively. His Ph.D. work was in the field of micromachined tactile sensors for robotics and medical applications. From October 2006 to October 2008, he was a Visiting Researcher at the Tabata Laboratory, Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan. During this period, he gained experience in microfabrication experimentally. Since January 2009, he has been a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Assiut University, and then Associate Professor in Dec 2014. His current interests include microsensors (principle, simulation, design, and fabrication), micromachining and its application in MEMS, tactile sensing systems (tactile sensing and display), micro energy harvesting devices, and Micro fluidics systems. Dr. Fath El Bab was a recipient of the Best Ph.D. Thesis Prize in Engineering Sciences from Assiut University in 2010. He is the Publication chair of the 1st international conference on innovative Engineering- ICIES 2012, Alexandria, 7-9 Dec., Sponsored by IEEE, RAS. Currently he establishing the E-JUST Micro & Nano Fabrication center of Excelence. He is a part-time lecturer in Pan African University Institute for Basic Sciences, Technology and Innovation (PAUISTI)
